Hosted by the Mie Matsusaka Marathon Executive Committee and co-hosted by Matsusaka City, Matsusaka City Board of Education, Mie Athletics Association, Chunichi Shimbun, and Mie Prefecture, the event will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2026 due to rain. The events and capacity are 10,000 participants in the marathon division, 1,000 participants in the 5km division, and 2,000 participants in the health walk division (7km). The participation fee for the marathon division is 12,900 yen. The marathon division is divided into a Japan Athletic Training registered division and a general division.
The marathon section (42.195km) is the "Mie Matsusaka Marathon course", certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations, and starts at 9:00 in front of Kuragi Bunka Hall and finishes at Matsusaka City Sports Park. The organizer explains that this is course where you can experience “Matsusaka, the town of wealthy merchants,” including the castle town that was crowded with people traveling between the Ise Kaido and Wakayama Kaido roads and the people who achieved great achievements. time limit is 7 hours (based on Hopo), and depending on the departure block, it may take more than 10 minutes to cross the starting line from Hopo. cut-off point includes 7 marathon locations (planned): 7.0km Lawson Kamatacho 10:25 (1 hour 25 minutes), 12.0km in front of Saiwai Elementary School 11:10 (2 hours 10 minutes), 16.5km Matsusaka Agricultural Park Bell Farm 11:55 (2 hours 55 minutes), 24.0km in front of Matsuo Elementary School 13:10 (4 hours 10 minutes), 30.0km in front of Kowa Industrial Complex main gate 14:05 (5 hours 5 minutes), 34.7km in front of JA Mienakaizawa Branch 14:48 (5 hours 48 minutes), 40.0km Anraku Meeting Center 15:38 (6 hours 38 minutes), finish at 16:00. Runners who have not reached the cut-off point closing time must immediately stop the race and board the last receiving bus, or walk to the next cut-off point and board the receiving bus placed there. Even before the closing time, if it is determined that it is too late and cannot be reached, the game will be stopped. The 5km section departs and arrives at Matsusaka City Sports Park, starting at 10:00, time limit 50 minutes, cut-off point 1 location (scheduled). The Health Walk (7 km walk) starts from Matsusaka Station (South Exit) between 9:00 and 10:30 and finishes at Matsusaka City Sports Park and lasts time limit 3 hours. Due to the operation of the competition, wheelchairs cannot participate in the marathon and 5km sections. The record is measured using an automatic timing system using a measuring chip, and the chip must be returned after the end of the game.
