The Sargento Gonzaguinha race is held by the EEFPM (Escola de Educação Física da Polícia Militar), with a course starting on Av.

Cruzeiro do Sul near Canindé and looping through central and northern São Paulo.

Known as a completely flat course with almost no climbing, it attracts runners targeting personal bests.

Besides the main 15km, there is also a shorter 4km course option.

Getting to the start

Armênia Station (Blue Line Metro) — about 500m from the start

Start is at Escola de Educação Física da Polícia Militar, Av. Cruzeiro do Sul, 548, Canindé, São Paulo, roughly a 5-8 minute walk from Armênia metro station.

No organizer shuttle bus mentioned; metro proximity makes one unnecessary.

Registration for a personalized card requires a Brazilian RG (for citizens) or RNM (for foreign residents), so it is not realistically obtainable by short-term tourists. Works directly at the gates

Since December 1, 2025, all Metrô SP stations have accepted contactless payment (Visa, Mastercard, and Elo) directly at the turnstile—but only with physical cards (Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay are not yet supported during this pilot). Each card can be tapped again only after a 30-minute cooldown.

Contactless payment does not provide fare integration with buses.

2026 registration opens in late May and closes December 7 or when capacity is reached, available online and on-site.

First-batch pricing starts at 152.49 BRL for kit without shirt, 185.19 BRL with shirt.

On December 13 race day, starts are staggered: 15km PCD (disability) at 6:00 AM, 15km elite at 6:08 AM, 15km general at 6:10 AM,

followed by 4km divisions at 6:25 AM (PCD), 6:33 AM (elite), and 6:35 AM (general).
