This is the Kunming station of the Aitu series, starting at Zhongtie Park on the western shore of Dianchi Lake, China’s sixth-largest freshwater lake.
The event offers a 21km race (150 runners) and a non-timed 7km (50 runners), making it a small-scale ecological running event limited to 200 participants.
True to Kunming’s nickname, the “Spring City,” runners enjoy lakeside conditions of around 20°C even in August.
Entry fee start at 155 yuan.

So on race morning, you can just run.
Venue confirmed as 中铁公园 (Zhongtie/'China Railway' Park), Xishan District, Kunming, on the shore of Dianchi Lake. Could not verify a specific nearby metro station or bus route — Kunming Metro Line 5 runs along the eastern/southern Dianchi shore, but that is on the opposite side of the lake from Xishan District's western shore, so it likely does not serve this venue directly.
treat as unconfirmed rather than 'no public transit.' Event date (Aug 16, 2026) matches the source date exactly. Public transit details for this specific small park could not be verified through available search results.
Same as start (out-and-back/loop route based at 中铁公园); no separate finish venue given.
Same access caveats as start apply.
None mentioned on the official event page.
Kunming has an operating metro network, with fares payable via the Kunming Smart Pass (a citywide IC transit card) available at station service counters and many convenience stores, or via WeChat Pay/Alipay QR-code scanning as an easy alternative for visitors. NFC-enabled Android phones can also load a virtual transit card for tap-to-ride.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Zhongtie Park, the race venue, is on the western shore of Dianchi Lake in Xishan District and is not directly served by the metro.
The standard approach is by car or by transferring between buses from central Kunming.
At 1,890m, the altitude may make the effort feel harder than at sea level, and August is the rainy season, so prepare for showers.
Registration is first come, first served through the Zuicool platform.
Times are local to Kunming. Check the latest official information before the race.
