to get back to my previous pace.”David followed the former railway at the 2014 Elroy Apple Dumpling Day Marathon, enduring gradual late climbs and fatigue. They held second overall all the way to finish in 3 hours, 27 minutes, 31 seconds, then enjoyed an age-group winner's award and postrace apple dumplings.

Marathon, 5K, and kids' races start at Elroy City Park in downtown Elroy, WI, a small rural village in Juneau County. No fixed-route bus or rail service exists in Elroy.
Organizer's own bus covers the point-to-point half marathon leg.
No public transit — car access only (Schultz Park, Elroy, WI); half marathon starts by bus from Elroy to Hustler, WI, then finishes back at Schultz Park
All events finish at Elroy City Park/Schultz Park. The half marathon is bused by the organizer from Elroy to a point-to-point start in Hustler, WI, then runs back into Elroy.

Elroy, Wisconsin is a small rural town (northern end of the Elroy-Sparta bike trail) with no public transit or IC card system. The race venue is car-access only; visitors typically drive in from Madison, about an hour away.

The race is held at Schultz Park in Elroy, Wisconsin, with the marathon starting at 7:00 a.m., half marathon at 7:30 a.m.,
and the 5K at 8:00 a.m. Course is generally flat and shaded, and the marathon course is certified.
Registration fees increase in stages after the early-bird deadline of June 15, rising again on July 15 and August 15, with the highest rate applying to race-day registration.
