THE DREAM
A World Athletics bronze-label race.
Over 5,000 runners from around the world participate.
It is introduced as a race that has established Castellón as a sports city through organizer preparation and volunteer/citizen support.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“The organization of the race was very good.”The runner completed the Castellón marathon despite inadequate training and the lingering effects of a calf injury. The runner slowed down from 26 km onward and mixed in walking later, rating the aid stations and race organization more positively than the course scenery.
“I did it! I finished my second marathon too!”
Javi entered the Castellón Marathon worried about calf pain, but controlled heart rate and pace to stay strong late on. Family, spectators, and another runner helped Javi finish a second marathon with a personal best of 3 hours 23 minutes 2 seconds.

Runners start · local time — Departure will begin at 9:17 a.m. to start the course, on Av. Vila-Real (after the start of the 10k Facsa Castelló)
The marathon and the 10K FACSA share a course built for speed: a route organisers describe as straighter than in past editions,
with sea views at El Grao and traffic run in both directions along the same roads.
The marathon starts on Avenida de Vila-real and finishes on the central platform of Parc Ribalta, in the heart of the city.
The layout stays close to sea level throughout, a characteristic that has made Castellón one of the fastest marathon courses in Spain.
In 2024, Kibrom Ghebrezgiabhier set the course record at 2:07:24, the fourth-fastest marathon time ever run in Spain.
The 10K, run alongside the marathon,
has produced two world records on this same course: Yalemzerf Yehualaw's women's mark of 29:14 in 2022, and Yomif Kejelcha's 26:31 in 2025, recognised by World Athletics as the men's world record after the previous mark,
held by Rhonex Kipruto, was invalidated by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
