Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.

RioCard / Bilhete Único
Metro stations (e.g. Carioca, Jardim Oceânico) or dedicated RioCard kiosks
Works directly at the gates
The metro and the large majority of municipal buses now accept contactless bank cards directly at the gate/reader.
Some older buses or vans still require a physical RioCard/Bilhete Único,
or payment via Pix QR code (Brazil's local instant-payment system, not usable by most foreign cards),
so carry a little cash as backup off the main tourist routes.
Rio de Janeiro uses the RioCard/Bilhete Unico smartcard for buses, trams and MetroRio,
purchasable and rechargeable at metro stations (e.g. Carioca, Jardim Oceanico) or via the RioCard Mais app using Pix or credit card.
Notably, MetroRio turnstiles now accept contactless bank cards and mobile wallets (Apple Pay/Google Pay) directly,
so a dedicated card is not strictly necessary for visitors.
Aterro do Flamengo is walkable from several metro stations along the Botafogo/Flamengo line.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The finish at Aterro do Flamengo is within walking distance of Flamengo and Largo do Machado stations on the Rio Metro.
For the early-morning trip to the Leblon start, the race shuttle or a car is the standard option.
Rio in midwinter (August) is comfortable for running at around 20°C, though some days are humid.
General entry is handled through the Yescom website.
Times are local to Rio de Janeiro. Check the latest official information before the race.
