Getting to the start
No conventional public transit — race is held entirely inside the temporary Burning Man festival site, Black Rock City, in the Black Rock Desert near Gerlach, NV. Start/base is at Pink Lightning Camp within Black Rock City (specific placement varies year to year per BRC's temporary addressing system).

temporary-event venue: entry to Black Rock City requires a Burning Man event ticket (the ultra itself is a free volunteer-run race for ticketed attendees) —
general public/spectator access without a Burning Man ticket is not possible.

Access to Black Rock City is via NV State Route 447 from Gerlach (roughly 75 miles from I-80), then a BLM-patrolled entrance road onto the playa;
roads are unpaved playa surface for the final stretch.
