ABOUT.
宜昌马拉松 (Yichang Marathon) is a road running competition that was first held on October 23, 2016 and has been selected as the China Athletics Association Gold Medal Competition, China Sports and Tourism Excellence Competition, and World Association of Athletics Federations elite label competition. It is hosted by the Gongchang City People's Government Department and operated by the Shanghai People's Sports Association Public Office, and was also held as a quarterly competition for the National Marathon Championships in 2018 and 2019. The size of the 2026 competition is 16,000 people.
COURSE.
The marathon (42.195km) starts from Heping Park, follows the Shengjiang Road, passes the Jiangyin Street intersection, the Baihe intersection, and the Zhongjiang Road, then enters the Zhongzheng Road, and returns from the Huaijiang Road. Afterwards, go through the Bi临路 interchange and cross the Changjang River via Bijiangjiang River. The start is at 7:30 on November 1 with a single foot signal for each zone, and the divisions are arranged in the following order: S zone for top-level marathoners, marathon A zone, and half marathon B, C, D zone, and the zone spacing is 20m. Each section has cut-off point times: 5km 8:25, 10km 9:00, 15km 9:40, 20km 10:20, 21.0975km 10:30, 25km 11:05, 30km 11:45, 35km 12:30, 40km 13:20, 42.195km Closes at 13:30 (overall limit 6 hours). Competitors who pass cut-off point must immediately leave course and go to the finish line by vehicle or public transportation.
Time mats are installed at the starting point, every 5km, 21.0975km, turnaround point, and the finish line, and if any of them do not pass, their records will be reexamined. In the final, high-speed electronic timekeeping equipment certified by the China Athletics Association will be used. course Due to conditions, only general wheelchair athletes can participate, and racing wheelchairs are not accepted. TIPS.
Geomrok is open from 6:00 to 7:15 on the day of the competition, and you can enter the relevant gathering area after checking your number. Organizing committee recommends arriving at least 60 minutes in advance. After 15 minutes of the starting signal, you will not be able to enter course, and if you start by moving from the back area to the front area, your record and ranking will be canceled and you will be suspended from competition for one year.
Item storage is available by number at the designated departure area between 6:00 and 7:15. You must put your clothes in the participation bag provided by the organizing committee and attach a small number tag that matches your number to the outside. The swimming pool closes at half marathon 11:30, 14:30 for the marathon, and if you miss the time, you must pick it up from the organizing committee within 5 days after the race (mailing costs are your responsibility). It is best not to leave valuables inside and you are responsible for any loss or damage.
Water supply is provided at intervals from 5 km to 2.5 km, and food supply is provided at 12.5, 17.5, 22.5, 27.5, 32.5, 35, and 37.5 km. Portable toilets will be installed at the starting point, course locations, and the finish line.
Participating items cannot be picked up by proxy or sent by mail, and must be received in person with the original ID card used when registering. Specific pickup instructions will be announced separately. The participation fee for the marathon is 180 yuan, half marathon 150 yuan, and includes disposable timing chip participation clothing, supplies, and insurance. Groups of 30 or more receive a 5% discount, and groups of 50 or more receive a 15% discount.
Only professional sportswear is allowed, and decorative clothing, course pres, pointed or hard protruding decorations, and makeup that largely covers the face are prohibited. Items unrelated to the competition, such as flags (including running team flags), banners, and selfie sticks, cannot be brought in. They must be collected during the safety inspection, placed in the designated starting area, and picked up after the competition. course Smoking (including electronic cigarettes) is prohibited in all areas.
Photos taken by the official photographer can be downloaded for a fee from the official competition app ‘第1 course’. Applications are accepted from 10:00 on July 13, 2026 to 18:00 on September 8, 2026. If the number of applicants exceeds the quota, a lottery will be held and the results will be announced on September 16.
