It starts at Kangbao County Cultural Plaza and runs through Kangbanoer National Wetland Park, along grassland roads, and among rows of wind turbines.

At 1,450 meters above sea level, the rolling course is a 3,000-runner event and a flagship summer getaway race.

“I entered purely for the finisher medal, with no time plan. Finishing was enough; under 4 hours would've been nice, but missing it was fine too.”

At the Kangbao Marathon, strong sun on the shadeless grassland led the runner to pour water over themselves at every aid station. After the final climb, they accelerated toward a sub-4-hour finish but clocked 4 hours 1 minute.

There are two events, full marathon and half marathon, both starting at 7:00 a.m. from Kangbao County Cultural Plaza and returning to the same location.

The course passes Yong'an Avenue, Kanghua Road, Binhu Avenue, and the Kangbanoer Wetland Park area.

With its rolling route at 1,450 meters above sea level, it is known as one of China’s more challenging road marathons.

The Entry fee starts at 120 yuan.
