Starting at Linjiang Park, it follows riverside avenues and crosses the Yangtze on Zhongxian Yangtze River Bridge.

A 13,000-participant event running through the gorge winds and river breezes of Zhongxian, the home of mandarins.

The race is an out-and-back course that uses Zhongxian Linjiang Park as both start and finish.

Full marathon runs along the riverside road Binjiang Road, crosses the Ganjinghe No. 2 Bridge, continues along Linjiang Road,

and crosses the Yuxi No. 2 Bridge and Caoxihe Bridge in succession to reach the first turnaround point.

It then passes Hongxing Road, Huancheng Road, and Daqiao Road,

crosses the Zhongxian Yangtze River Bridge over the Yangtze River (长江),

turns at the second turnaround point, and retraces the same route back to Linjiang Park.

Half marathon only covers the Binjiang Road-to-Caoxihe Bridge section out and back, finishing at Linjiang Park,

while the fun run is the shortest course, going only as far as Mingyuxi Avenue and back.

Fitting for terrain near the Three Gorges, the bridge crossings over the Yangtze and the riverside promenade define the character of course.

Getting to the start

Per the 2024 edition (7th Yangtze Three Gorges Marathon), start/finish was Linjiang Park in Zhongxian (Zhong County), Chongqing. Zhongxian currently has NO passenger rail station — the Yuwan high-speed rail station there is still under construction.

Getting to Zhongxian from Chongqing is via long-distance coach (from Chaotianmen Bus Station) or private car/taxi. Public transit is effectively unavailable until the high-speed rail station opens.

Based on the most recent edition (2025), the total field is around 13,000 runners,

with per-event caps of 2,000 for full marathon, 4,000 for half marathon, and 7,000 for the fun run.

Registration opens in late August (noon on August 29, as of 2025) on a first-come,

first-served basis and closes early once full, so it's safer to register promptly.

Registration has been handled through the 'Zuicool' registration system.
