ABOUT THE RACE

A day you'll remember,
long past the finish line.

An out-and-back course on the Rim Trail (T105).

The events are 53K, 9.5 miles, and 4.75 miles.

This trail was the first Forest Service trail in New Mexico to be designated a National Recreation Trail.

It passes through fir, pine, and aspen forests, with several points overlooking the Tularosa Basin 4,000 feet below.

No public transit — car access only

Start and finish are both at the Zenith Park Pavilion, Cloudcroft, NM (elev. ~8,600 ft), per the official UltraSignup event page.

Small mountain town in the Sacramento Mountains with no transit service. No date conflict.

Out-and-back format on the Rim Trail (T105); finish is co-located with start.

Start shuttle

No runner/spectator shuttle mentioned. Crew directed to aid stations via Sunspot Highway and one-lane Alamo Peak Road.

Transit card

No dedicated transit card system; Cloudcroft, New Mexico is a small mountain village with no public bus network. The Cloudcroft Ultra is entirely car-access; standard cash/card is accepted for any local purchases or parking.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Cloudcroft, New Mexico, where the race takes place, is a mountain village at 2,600m with no public transport, so you will need to drive.

It is about 30 minutes by car from Alamogordo.

Because this is a high-altitude forest race, runners from lower elevations need time to acclimatise.

Given the pattern of summer-afternoon thunderstorms, aiming to finish early is wise.

Registration is handled through UltraSignup, with Entry fee starting at 20 dollars.
