“I was in great spirits, and it turned into a wonderful day of running!”

At the 2022 Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon, the runner completed two laps of a nearly flat city-center course, taking in historic buildings and parks. They fondly recalled the stadium start and the city's lively atmosphere, finishing in 5 hours, 18 minutes, 7 seconds.

Manoj, recovering from a cold, ran Cluj's flat out-and-back course. He held about 5:30 per kilometer through 30K, had his calf massaged once because of discomfort late in the race, and finished in 3:58:25.

Getting to the start

Tram lines 101/102/102L stop directly at 'Cluj Arena' tram stop; trolleybus 1/2/6/7/14/25 and buses 9/19/24/24B/25N/29/29S/42/52 stop at nearby 'Agronomia'/'Fabrica de Bere' (~2min walk); buses 30 and M26 also serve nearby stops

Start and finish both at Cluj Arena stadium on Splaiul Independentei (two-lap course). Confirmed 2027-04-11 (Company Relay/Family Race on 2027-04-10).

Per prior (2026) edition: from 05:00-13:00 race day, traffic (except public transit) closed on Bulevardul 21 Decembrie 1989, north side of Piata Unirii, Strada Memorandumului, Calea Motilor. Organizers recommend parking on the periphery and using public transport.

No dedicated participant shuttle found; public transit plus walking via Agronomia/Fabrica de Bere stops is the standard recommended access. 2027-specific 'Restrictii rutiere si recomandari' page not yet populated.

The Wizz Air Cluj-Napoca Marathon full course starts at 8:30 a.m. at Cluj Arena.

Enter through the passage on the Playground side of Tribune 2.

The overall time limit is 6 hours, with a separate 3-hour cutoff at the halfway point, 21.1 km.

The course consists of two laps of a 21.1 km route, starting and finishing at Cluj Arena.

On the first lap, aid stations are located at 3.2, 7.5, 11, 16, 18.8, and 21.3 km.

On the second lap, they are repeated at 25, 28.6, 32, 38, and 39.9 km, providing water, electrolyte drinks, and fruit.

Registration closes when capacity is reached or approximately one month before race day.

Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis without a separately announced capacity.
