THE DREAM
Founded in 1897, this is regarded as Europe’s oldest continuously held road race.
It is a 10.031km point-to-point course running from the “13km marker” in Běchovice,
east of Prague, towards the city centre, and also serves as the Czech 10km national championships.
The traditional course remains unchanged, with the uphill continuing as you approach finish.

RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
We have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
Course is a point-to-point 10.031km course starting in Běchovice, east of Prague, and heading toward the city center.
The start is at the “13 km road marker,” which is also a symbol of the race, and the course continues uphill as it approaches finish.
The race is considered the oldest continuously held athletics race in Europe.
It was founded in 1897 by Jan Hrazdíra and Josef Hlavsa, and it was not interrupted even during the two World Wars or the pandemic.
The 2026 edition will be the 130th running.
Kenyan athletes began being invited from the 100th edition in 1996, and since then the course record has stood at 28:33, set by Laban Chege.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
A traditional race that also serves as the Czech 10 km Road Championships, with a capacity of 5,000.
Race packs (with chip-equipped bib) are distributed only on the morning of race day.

Praha-Běchovice train stop, 'Praha-Běchovice střed' (~3min walk to start)
Start on Českobrodská Street in Běchovice, km-13 marker. Official guidance recommends regional train over driving since parking is very limited.
'Vozovna Žižkov' tram/bus stop; nearest metro Flora (Line A) — under reconstruction/closed from Feb 2026, likely still closed race day
Finish at Hartigova and Za Žižkovskou vozovnou streets, Žižkov, Prague 3. Walk to Jiřího z Poděbrad (Line A) as backup metro option.
Organizers run return buses from finish back to Běchovice ~14:30/14:50/15:15 (limited capacity, no reservations). Prague public transit reinforced to Běchovice until ~10:00, after which race road closures begin.
PID Lítačka (Prague's official personalized rechargeable travel card and companion app) — not required for short visits since contactless bank cards work directly
The Lítačka app (App Store/Google Play, for a virtual card) or a physical card from DPP customer centers Works directly at the gates
Alternative: 24-hour PID ticket 140 CZK via the Lítačka app / 150 CZK if bought on paper or via a contactless-card tap at a terminal (2026 tariff) — Worth buying if you'll take more than about 3 rides in a day (e.g., race expo, hotel, start line, sightseeing); for 1-2 trips, single tickets are cheaper. Prague's metro has no gates or turnstiles — it runs on a proof-of-payment system, so you tap your card at a validator/terminal to purchase and validate a ticket before entering the platform, not to 'enter' through a barrier.
Plainclothes inspectors check tickets regularly and fines for riding without a valid one are roughly 1,500 CZK. A single 30-minute ticket bought via contactless tap costs 36-42 CZK.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The organizers recommend using public transport.
The start is a 3-minute walk from Praha – Běchovice střed railway station, and driving is not recommended because parking is limited.
Registration involves completing the online application form and paying Entry fee by bank transfer within 7 days.
Times are local to Prague. Check the latest official information before the race.
