ABOUT THE RACE

A day you'll remember,

This is a half marathon around the coast of Changxing Island in Dalian.

Starting at Hailuo Square, the out-and-back circuit course follows the island’s coastal roads and main attractions,

with almost half the route running beside the sea.

A flat course with around 100m of total elevation change, it is nevertheless exposed to the island’s coastal winds.

Course starts and finishes at Conch Square on Changqin Coast, Changxing Island.

It passes major points on the island, including Beibinhai Road, Panchuan Square, Guanweihui Avenue, Zhongxin Palace Garden,

the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (Chinese Academy of Sciences), Fengche Square, and the Spotted Seal Conservation Center.

Nearly half of the entire course runs along coastal roads, and with total elevation change of about 98-100m, it is generally flat.

The race is held in the early morning in mid-September, so the temperature itself isn't too demanding,

but the island's characteristic sea winds tend to blow strongly, so it's a good idea to bring a windbreaker.

Changxing Island is about a 2-hour drive from downtown Dalian,

and public transportation on the island is limited, so transportation should be arranged in advance.
