It is held at Dana Peak Park on the north shore of Stillhouse Hollow Lake in Harker Heights, Texas, about an hour's drive from both Waco and Austin.

The course climbs and descends over rocky lakeside terrain, mostly through forest but with some stretches fully exposed to the sun.

Getting to the start

None – no train/bus/subway service to Harker Heights or Dana Peak Park

Dana Peak Park (3800 Comanche Gap Road, Harker Heights, TX) is a US Army Corps of Engineers park on Stillhouse Hollow Lake; car access only. Located under an hour from both Waco and Austin.

Getting to the finish

None (same park as start)

Loop course finishes at Dana Peak Park; Comanche Gap aid station is ~1 mile away by road with limited parking there.

Transit card

Dana Peak Trail Run takes place in a park near Harker Heights, close to Killeen/Fort Hood in central Texas, an area with no meaningful public transit. A car is required to reach the trailhead; no transit card system applies.

Official registration is handled through Ultrasignup and remains open until 11:59 p.m. (local time) on October 3, the day of the race.

Start times vary by distance: the 100K starts at 6:00 a.m., the 50K at 7:00 a.m., the 20K at 7:30 a.m., and the 10K at 8:00 a.m.

Course follows rocky terrain along Stillhouse Hollow Lake, mostly shaded by forest but with some sections fully exposed with no shade.

Cumulative elevation gain for the 50K reaches about 1,022 m (3,354 ft).

For 100K and 50K runners, the longest stretch between aid station reaches 7 miles, so carrying personal hydration gear is a mandatory requirement.

Parking lot entry costs $5 per vehicle, and carpooling is encouraged.
