THE DREAM
A mountain ultra that starts at Memory Grove, just below the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City, and finishes at Tunnel Springs Park in North Salt Lake.
It passes through the signature trails of the Wasatch Front, with a cumulative elevation gain of about 20,869 feet.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“After a few hours plastered by my icy wet shirt, my body no longer could maintain its core temperature.”Cold rain and wind left the runner soaked and shaking at the D.C. Peaks 50-mile race, prompting staff to stop the race at the first aid station. The runner reflected on having brought insufficient cold-weather gear.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

Packet pickup: Thursday (the day before the race), 2:00pm-6:00pm
UTA TRAX Blue/Green Line - City Center Station (~1 mile / ~21-min walk); closer bus stop 'State Capitol East Entrance' is an ~8-min walk
Start is at Memory Grove Park just below the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City;
a UTA bus to Capitol Hill is faster than the TRAX walk, which is mostly uphill.
Point-to-point ~100-mile course across Davis County peaks: transit-accessible start in downtown SLC but car-dependent finish in North Salt Lake.
No fixed-route transit serves the finish directly
Finish is Tunnel Springs Park, 1080 Eaglepointe Dr, North Salt Lake, UT - a residential trailhead several miles from the nearest UTA service;
car pickup needed.
Fri 10/2 Shuttle bus departs Tunnel Springs Park at 9:30 AM
No organizer shuttle documented in available sources;
check dcpeaks.com/course-info for current-year logistics.
North Salt Lake is served by Utah Transit Authority (UTA),
which uses the contactless FAREPAY card (TRAX light rail fare $2.50, daily cap $5) loadable at station kiosks and retailers;
contactless bank cards are not yet directly accepted systemwide.
For reaching this trail race in the surrounding mountains, a rental car remains the more practical choice over transit.

The overall time limit for the 100-mile event is 36 hours, and runners must also meet separate cut-off point cutoff times at each checkpoint;
arriving past the cut-off point time means being disqualified and not allowed to continue.
