THE DREAM
This race takes place every autumn in Ostrava, Czechia.
The first edition was held on 26 October 2024, followed by the second in 2025 and the third on 24 October 2026.
It offers a range of events, including full marathon,
half marathon, 10km and a mixed team relay divided into eight legs of about 5.3km, bringing elite and recreational runners together.
The event is named after legendary Czech athlete Emil Zátopek.
At the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, Zátopek won the 5,000m, 10,000m and marathon, while Ostrava was the city where he first set a 10km world record in 1949.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“But a marathon is a long, unpredictable race.”
Ondra set out aiming for 2:50 at the Emil Zátopek Ostrava Golden Marathon, but went off route at the 8 km mark and slowed in strong winds later on. Keeping an eye on the course and his rivals to the end, he finished in 2:52:12, placing 14th overall and third in his age group.
