Getting to the start

No direct public transit; nearest Metra is Palos Heights station (SouthWest Service line)

Start/finish is at Teason's Woods trailhead, 11200 S Willow Springs Rd, Palos Hills, IL 60465, inside Cap Sauers Holding Nature Preserve. Palos Heights Metra station (SouthWest Service) has Pace bus connections, but it is several miles from the trailhead with no direct bus route confirmed to the preserve entrance; runners effectively need a car.

Remote forest-preserve venue in Cook County with no practical public transit; packet pickup is race-day only at 6:30am.

The F^3 Cap Sauers Trail Marathon & 10 Mile takes place within the Cap Sauers Holding Nature Preserve, the largest undeveloped preserve in Cook County.

Course uses the Yellow, Green, Blue, and Tan trails of the Sag Valley Trail System, covering all of the managed trails within the preserve.

The course consists of wide, two-way dirt trails, with more than 1,000 feet of elevation change reported.

The marathon starts at 7:30 AM and the 10-mile race at 8:00 AM, with time limit closing at 3:00 PM and 11:45 AM, respectively.

Entry fee were $85 for the marathon and $70 for the 10-mile race the previous year, with prices increasing after the end of August.

Bib pickup is available from 6:30 AM on race day, with no pre-race pickup offered.

Aid stations are set up at miles 3, 5, 8, 10, 13, 15, 18, 20, and 23, positioned to coincide with the turnaround points on the out-and-back sections.

Finishers receive a wooden finisher finisher medal, marathon finishers receive a separate finisher T-shirt, and all participants receive a trucker hat.
