THE DREAM
A marathon on the Baltic island of Fehmarn.
Starting at the school sports field in Burg, the circuit course passes the yacht harbour,
coastal promenade and Staberhuk on the southern coast before returning.
Alongside full marathon, half marathon, 12km and 5km races are held, turning the entire island into a running course for the day.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“The heat made it tough for every runner.”
At the Fehmarn Marathon, the runner braved a forecast of 25°C to run the scenic course. Exhausted by the heat at the finish, they finished in 4 hours 5 minutes 23 seconds, placing 1st in M65 and 30th overall.

Die Hitze machte allen Läufern zu schaffen.
Read the original on LTV Kiel-Ost“The Fehmarn Marathon was over, and I was spent too. It was beautiful, but it was also really tough.”
At the Fehmarn Marathon, the runner enjoyed Burg and the coastal scenery but struggled into a headwind from 28 km. A pace in the 6-minute-per-kilometer range held until 30 km before much more walking, yet sticking it out brought satisfaction.
