Known as the “Rice Paddy Marathon,” this race crosses 667 hectares of farmland between two rivers in Gaoming, Foshan.

Starting at Gaoming Sports Center, the route links the Wanmu rice-field paths with the riverside boulevard.

Golden fields at harvest time take center stage in course, making this a rural race in the Pearl River Delta.

The race starts in Suchun, home to the Gaoming Sports Center.

Full marathon passes through reverse-direction sections on Xiulilu, Mingxilu, and Haitian Avenue,

then follows Township Road 536 across approximately 667 hectares (10,000 mu·萬畝) of rice fields before continuing along the northern section of Yangshi Avenue,

Chengxilu, and Mingwulu to pass finish at Mingcheng Square.

Half marathon shares part of the same route before returning to Suchun for the finish.

Course is notable for views of the Xijiang River on one side and golden rice fields on the other.

Getting to the start

There is no metro in Gaoming; the nearest connection is via Foshan Metro Line 2, Nanzhuang Station (南庄站)

Start is at Sucun / Gaoming Sports Center (高明体育中心), Gaoming District, Foshan. Recommended route: Guangzhou South Railway Station → Foshan Metro Line 2 to Nanzhuang Station → transfer to bus K500 into Gaoming District (~1hr53min total).

Getting to the finish

Full marathon finishes at Ming City Plaza (明城广场); half marathon finishes back at Sucun (same as the start)

Same transit situation as the start — no rail directly in Gaoming, and the K500 bus connects to Metro Line 2 at Nanzhuang.

The field sizes are 3,000 for full marathon and 7,000 for half marathon, while Entry fee entry fees are 188 yuan and 168 yuan, respectively.

Registration runs from 2:00 p.m. on August 14 to 6:00 p.m. on October 16 via the official WeChat account and partner platforms.

The race starts at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 22, and thanks to the opening of regional rail lines and convenient expressway access,

runners from nearby cities can reach the venue in around 15 minutes.
