THE DREAM
To mark the 110th anniversary of Fukuyama's city status, the race was moved from March to October and the course was redesigned.
It is held during the season when autumn roses bloom.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“The result was awful, but I somehow made it to the finish.”
The runner took part in the Fukuyama half marathon. The runner started faster than usual to catch the train, then slowed significantly in the latter stages, but finished with encouragement from an acquaintance.

結果は散々でしたが、なんとかゴールできました。

Attoko negotiated short, steep embankment climbs and descents and headwinds in the Fukuyama Marathon half marathon event, recording a chip time of 1 hour 22 minutes 36 seconds. Joining a group with a matching speed early on was meant to conserve energy, but Attoko had to keep adjusting pace to avoid falling behind.

The Fukuyama Marathon is a road running competition held in Fukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture with the purpose of improving the health of citizens.
In addition to half marathon and 10km,
we also provide short distance events and family/elementary school student events so that children and adults can participate.
Competition for records in long-distance racing and daily sports for local residents meet in the same program.
Half marathon uses the newly configured course to pass through the city.
Places that symbolize the city, such as the Rose Park, Fukuyama Castle, and Myo-in, are located along the route.
This is a route that expands the focus from focusing only on the riverside to the city center,
allowing you to experience both Fukuyama's history and current living space while running.
The official introduction explains that it is half marathon to enjoy the city with these places by your side.
The section running along the banks of the Ashida River is also an important background for the competition.
The official guide says that there are little ups and downs overall,
and that it is almost flat except for the part where it passes under the riverside underpass.
Because it is course that uses both the river embankment and the city area, the height of the terrain changes when passing under the road.
Half marathon and short streets run at different ranges within the same city.
A Fukuspo sports experience event will also be held on the same day as the competition.
The marathon is placed together with a local program where people can experience exercise and interact with people.
You can see the long-standing purpose of civic competitions continuing through long-distance events, family events, and experiential events.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
