The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
Gobi March is a 250 km self-sufficient stage race run over 6 stages in 7 days around the Orkhon Valley in central Mongolia.
Runners carry their own food and mandatory gear in a backpack, while the organizer provides water, shared tents and medical support.
The route passes steppe dotted with nomad gers, sand dunes and river crossings, and ends at Karakorum, the old capital of the Genghis Khan empire.
The 2027 race is the 21st edition and starts on June 20.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I finished! ... everything went really smoothy for the entire Gobi March. I always felt that I could put one foot in front of the other to move forwards.”At gear check the runner's pack was 7.3 kg, 1 kg heavier than calculated, but the runner says the light pack helped a lot. Because the climbs weren't factored in, they stayed on the course longer than expected and had to ration electrolytes.
“A gentle yomp into Karakorum and a spectacular monestry finish. ... I found it a tough week - but all the better to get to the finish.”The final stage reportedly ended with a finish at the Karakorum temple. The runner then wrote that it was a 7-hour bus ride to Ulaanbaatar.
“As an athletic event, Gobi March was deceptively challenging. ... The chief obstacle was smothering heat.”The runner says the course was mostly dirt roads and well-packed trails, but there were climbs lasting several km, rocky mountain scrambles and back-to-back dunes. The day through the Orkhon Valley was the most beautiful, and the finish was Karakorum.
