Getting to the start

No train/subway/bus station nearby

Start/finish is at the East Portal of the Route of the Hiawatha Trail near Taft, MT, deep in the Bitterroot Mountains on the MT/ID border — a rural trailhead reached only by car via mountain roads (I-90 exit to Forest Rd 506). Genuinely remote mountain trailhead with no public transit access; runners must drive.

The course includes the 1.6-mile (about 2.6km) Taft Tunnel, making a headlamp mandatory.

Runners can choose from several events including the marathon, half marathon, and 10K.
