Here are the ways to enter and what each requires.
Check the organizer's page for whether entries are open.
Apply for a 6-day program (including transportation, lodging, and meals) from May 21st to 27th.
RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
We have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
The race will be held on Monday, May 24, 2027, and will be run as part of a six-day program from May 21-27 that includes travel, lodging, and meals.
Full marathon 42km has a cumulative ascent of 1,750m and a cumulative descent of 2,600m,
making it a one-way course in which the amount of descent is much greater than the amount of ascent.
The highest altitude is full marathon 3,150m, half marathon 2,900m, and 10km approximately 2,300m.
All three events pass through the ruins of Llactapata and finish in the village of Machu Picchu.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Altitude is key.
Since you run at 3,000m, it is safe to acclimate to the altitude for at least two days in the Cusco area and then stop at start line.
A cumulative 2,600 meters of descent puts a lot of strain on the quadriceps muscles —
the amount of training you do downhill is more important than your flat marathon record.
Since it is operated as a 6-day program rather than individual participation, flights and lodging are not arranged separately.
Please check the included items first before applying.
You must check the organizer's notice for the exact recruitment schedule for Entry fee and 2027 (unpublished at the time of writing this document).
Times are local to Machu Picchu. Check the latest official information before the race.
