Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“There was nothing I could do but just run as fast as I could.”Nathan Sanel intended to run 50 miles at the Lake Waramaug Ultramarathon but shortened the distance to 50km after hamstring tightness and heel pain. A faster final stretch brought a personal best of 3 hours, 54 minutes, 36 seconds; only later did the results reveal they'd placed second overall.
“I managed my energy well.”James Gardner ran the Lake Waramaug 100km through strong winds and drizzle, then faced nausea in the second half. With crew support, they stayed focused to the end and finished eighth overall in 9 hours, 48 minutes, 47 seconds.
