Run for JoyRan in 2024

“It was sunny on the day I was in Kenting. There had just been a land typhoon warning the day before.”

Run for Joy enjoyed mountain and ocean views after a typhoon at the 2024 Japan Airlines Kenting International Marathon. Slowing on steep descents to protect the knees, the runner then endured unshaded heat late in the race, exchanging encouragement with others to finish safely.

2026 Japan Airlines Kenting International Marathon departs Dawan Grass Plaza in Kenting at Taiwan's southern tip and follows the southern coast as a coastal course.

Featuring the geography of Taiwan's southernmost point, blue sea and warm tropical breeze accompany the entire course,

showcasing Kenting National Park mountain and ocean views.

Detailed segmental turnpoint maps in official course guides are not yet confirmed.

Pick up your bib at the expo

Based on the 2025 edition — race materials (bib, chip, and commemorative shirt) are mailed together to the Taiwan address provided at registration.
Overseas participants should confirm with the organizer whether on-site pickup is available.
Any unclaimed items can be collected from the Taipei Triathlon office within one week after the event (postage payable by the recipient); items not collected by the deadline will be discarded.

Stations & transport near the venue

Getting to the start

Race is in Kenting, Pingtung — no train/subway serves Kenting at all.

Nearest transit hub is Kaohsiung (THSR Zuoying Station or Kaohsiung Airport).

Take the 'Kenting Express' intercity bus (route 9189, pre-booking required) from THSR Zuoying Station, ~140 minutes.

From the Kenting bus stop, further transport is needed to reach the actual start area (Dawan beach).

City confirmed as Pingtung (Kenting).

Effectively private car/taxi/booked shuttle territory.

Getting to the finish

Finish is same general Kenting/Dawan area as start;

same bus/taxi logistics apply for return to Kaohsiung.
