Course is a point-to-point race crossing the Cascade Mountains.
It starts at the shore of Kachess Lake, passes through dense forest, climbs to alpine meadows, and then follows the wide-open Kachess Ridge.
Along the way, you can see Chikamin Ridge and Mount Daniel to the north, the peaks of Snoqualmie Pass to the west, and the Stuart Range to the east.

Near Kachess Lake (Kachess Ridge Trail), north of Cle Elum, WA — no direct parking at start; runners are shuttled from Salmon La Sac SnoPark
No public transit; point-to-point course reached only via mandatory race shuttle. No parking allowed at the start line itself; spectators wanting to watch the start must park under the power lines on the main forest service road and walk ~1 mile in.

Salmon La Sac SnoPark, north of Cle Elum, WA
Finish is back at Salmon La Sac SnoPark, where camping is available; lodging alternatives in nearby Cle Elum/Roslyn.
Official mandatory shuttle from Salmon La Sac SnoPark to the start near Kachess Lake — departs 4:45am for 50-mile runners, 7:00am for 50K runners. Runners must arrive at the SnoPark at least 1 hour before their shuttle departure.
No dedicated transit card system applies; Kachess Ridge 50 is held near Cle Elum, Washington, in the Cascade foothills off I-90, about 80 miles from Seattle. Seattle-area transit uses the ORCA card, but it has no service in the Cle Elum area, so a rental car is required for this mountain trail venue.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The race venue is around Lake Kahchess, north of Cle Elum, about 80 miles from Seattle via I-90.
Seattle-area ORCA transit cards are useless in this area, so a rental car is effectively essential.
You cannot park directly at start line;
instead, take the race shuttle from Salmon La Sac Sno-Park.
