Schlosshotel Velden, Velden am Wörthersee

The Wörthersee half marathon starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Seecorso in Velden and follows Südufer Strasse along the lake's southern shore.

Course passes through Saag, Pörtschach am Wörthersee, Görtschach, and Krumpendorf in turn,

continues to Klagenfurt, and finishes at Metnitzstrand next to the Wörthersee lakeside resort.

The total distance is 21.1km.

Typical race-season temperature: around 18°C (64°F): Short sleeves — hydrate for the warmth

Getting to the start

Klagenfurt West ÖBB station — free race-day train shuttle to Velden for bib holders

Half marathon starts 9:00 AM in Velden am Wörthersee (Seecorso, in front of Falkensteiner Schlosshotel). Recommended: park at Minimundus car park (near Klagenfurt West station) and take the free ÖBB train (with race bib) to Velden.

Point-to-point course along the Wörthersee lakeshore.

Klagenfurt, Metnitzstrand / Strandbad Wörthersee area — reachable via city bus lines from Klagenfurt West/Minimundus, or on foot

Finish ('Running City') is at Metnitzstrand, next to Strandbad Klagenfurt.

Free ÖBB train Klagenfurt West <-> Velden for participants with race bib (both directions, race day).

Transit card

Klagenfurt and the Worthersee region are served by the Karnten Mobil regional transit network, with tickets bought via the Karnten Mobil/OBB Scotty apps or vending machines at stops and stations. There is no dedicated foreign-visitor tap card; the regional app is the simplest way to pay for buses and trains around the lake.
