In the half marathon at Kawasaki International Tamagawa Marathon, lingering effects of plantar fasciitis remained, but the runner beat the headwind by joining others with a similar pace. Gradually accelerating in the second half, they finished in 1 hour 23 minutes 30 seconds and gained confidence for their next full marathon.

Starts and finishes at Todoroki Athletics Stadium and runs the marathon course on the Tama River floodplain.
The Kawasaki Tamagawa Marathon is a local race run in and around a stadium and the roads along the Tama River in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
It is hosted by Kawasaki City, the city Board of Education and the city sports association,
and run by the race organizing committee and the local athletics association.
Built around the half marathon and 10km, it also offers short runs, a family Fun Run and wheelchair events,
bringing several generations and many kinds of participants to the same event.
It uses the city's sports facilities and riverside as its running stage.
The start and finish are at Todoroki Athletics Stadium.
Its current official name is Uvance Todoroki Stadium by Fujitsu, and it is also the home stadium of Kawasaki Frontale.
Runners leave the stadium, run the Tama riverside road and the marathon course on the Tama River floodplain, then return to the stadium.
The big local stadium and the riverside path are the race's two main settings.
The 10km also has a pair run in which two people form a team.
The two runners' times are combined, and each also takes part in the individual 10km.
Teams can be one man and one woman or two runners of the same gender, giving family and friends more ways to take on the challenge together.
There are also a family Fun Run for children with a parent or guardian and a separate event for wheelchair participants,
so individual distance challenges and many ways of running together fit into one event.
The race also showcases Kawasaki's other sports teams and local culture.
Kawasaki Frontale and the Kawasaki Brave Thunders help design the souvenirs,
and an Okinawa products fair celebrates the friendship-city ties between Kawasaki and Naha.
It is an event where running, local sport and exchange between cities meet around the same stadium.
