La Carrera del Pacífico Cali 10K runs on a precisely certified 10-kilometre course.

Rhythms from marimbas and tamboras, distinctive to Colombia's Pacific coastal region,

are performed at course throughout the course, creating the event atmosphere.

The 2026 race takes place on August 9 and will be the fifth edition.

It has held World Athletics quality certification (Label) since the inaugural race.

The course elevation published by the organisers is 1,023 metres.

Finishers receive a finisher medal, and concerts continue near finish.

The course record bonus standards are set at 27:57 for men and 31:00 for women.

Getting to the start

MIO bus stop 'Av 4 Entre Cl 10N y 12N' (routes A05, E27, P24B, T40) — ~3 min walk to Plazoleta Jairo Varela

Start/finish both at Plazoleta Jairo Varela, Av. 2 Norte, next to the CAM (Centro Administrativo Municipal), north Cali.

No dedicated race shuttle; four MIO public bus routes (P21E, P24B, P27D, P62A) run modified/detoured service race morning, mainly 6:00-10:00am.

MIO portals/terminals (Aguablanca, Norte, Sur, Terminal, Calimío, Meléndez, etc.), Efecty/Baloto/SuperGiros outlets, and ~330 sale/recharge points citywide — only needed as a backup Works directly at the gates

Since Sept 25, 2025, Cali became the first Colombian city with fully open-loop transit payment (Metro Cali + Credibanco + Visa/Mastercard) — contactless bank cards tap directly like a MIO card. Fare is COP 3,500 (2026).

Coverage may not yet be 100% everywhere, so keep a MIO card as a fallback in case a reader isn't enabled.

In August, when the race takes place, Cali's average high is 31.1°C and its average low is 18.5°C.

Average monthly rainfall is 28.7㎜, making this a much drier period than the April~May rainy season (103.1~134.2㎜).

Course at 1,023m is high enough for thinner air than at sea level.

Runners who train at low altitude should set pace lower than usual.

Categories range from under-17 runners to seniors aged 60 and over, as well as a para-athletics category and an elite category selected by the organizers.

The first-place prize in each elite men's and women's category is 20 million Colombian pesos.

A further 7 million pesos is awarded for setting a new course record.
