Start is at Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park, 4200 Avenue B, Council Bluffs, IA 51501, on the Missouri River. Council Bluffs has Metro Area Transit (MAT) local bus service but no rail; the park has on-site parking.

Course loops through Historic Downtown Council Bluffs, around Lake Manawa, and back to River's Edge Park for the finish.

READY TO RUN

This inaugural 2027 race starts and finishes at Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The four events are the full marathon, half marathon, 5K and a 1-mile kids' fun run.

Start times are staggered at 6:32 a.m. for the full marathon, 7:32 a.m. for the half marathon, 8:32 a.m. for the 5K and 9:02 a.m. for the kids' fun run.

Time limits are 9 hours for the full marathon, 8 hours for the half marathon and 7 hours for the 5K.

According to RunSignUp, entry fees are $99 for the full marathon, $89 for the half marathon, $49 for the 5K and $29 for the kids' fun run.

Full and half marathon prices increase at midnight on December 31, 2026.

Online registration for the 5K and kids' fun run remains open until midnight on April 3, 2027, and race-day registration is available if capacity remains.

A health and wellness expo and bib pickup take place from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on April 23, the day before the race;

the venue will be announced later.

Limited race-morning bib pickup is also available.

The course uses mostly flat paved roads and recreational trails connecting the Missouri River, Lake Manawa and downtown Council Bluffs.

The full marathon uses a loop, while the half marathon, 5K and kids' fun run use out-and-back sections.

Free parking near the start and finish opens at 4:00 a.m. on race day, and free gear check is also available.
