THE DREAM
The start signal is a rooster crow.
Runners pass through the barn and head out onto course, cross the fishing pond embankment, then re-enter the barn and pass through finish.
The Mini Barnyard Ultra continues until only one runner remains.
A 2.083-mile loop starts every 30 minutes, and anyone who does not return within the time limit is eliminated.
That evening, a 5K trail race and the half-mile Kids Fun Run are also held.

RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
| Event | Start | Time limit |
|---|---|---|
| Ultra | 20:00 | — |

For all three events, start line is corral beside the pavilion, a large shelter near the facility entrance.
The organizers ask participants to be inside corral no later than five minutes before the start of their event.
The 5K trail is a 3.187-mile loop.
Runners leave the barn, cross the park's grass fields and wooded trails,
follow and cross the fishing pond embankment, then pass back through the barn and enter finish.
The combined climbing and descending comes to nearly 400 feet.
The Mini Barnyard Ultra loop is 2.083 miles, with 335 feet of total ascent and 315 feet of total descent.
It runs between a low point of 572 feet and a high point of 691 feet.
After completing a loop, runners leave the finish chute and receive aid at the crew station or aid station pavilion.
Warnings sound three, two, and one minute before the next loop starts,
and runners who have not been eliminated must be inside corral barn before the rooster crows.
The 2.083-mile distance is designed so that completing 24 hours equals 100 miles.
The 2025 ultra ended after 14 hours.
Chris Emberton of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, won after completing 28 laps, or 58.33 miles.
The 5K winner that year was Colton Rathsmann, with a time of 20:40.32.
