“Really taught me a lot about myself. But I enjoyed it!”In a first ultra attempt at the Loopy Looper 12-hour race, the runner completed 12 laps for 45 miles. The new distance challenge was enjoyable, as was the running community.
“It went poorly. I only covered 63.75 miles and went home about 10 hours early.”In the Loopy Looper 24-hour event, their knee held up, but heat, nausea, and chafing made the race difficult. When a nighttime storm brought lightning, they also considered their family’s safety and stopped at 63.75 miles.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
