Full marathon course have long straight sections, almost no sharp turns, and virtually no elevation gain.

The flat terrain makes it easy to maintain a steady pace and reduces the need to slow down and accelerate repeatedly.

With the number of personal bests and sub-3-hour finishes continuing to rise over the previous three editions, runners have nicknamed it a race for fast times.
