Marathon Plovdiv offers the classic marathon distance (42.195km) and a half-marathon (21.1km).

Both are city road races starting and finishing at Central Square, near the Military Club and Tsar Simeonova Garden in Plovdiv.

The courses pass the city's historic sites, monuments, parks and landmarks, including Stefan Stambolov Square and Knyaz Alexander I Street.

Aid stations are provided every 5km and after the finish.

Central Square (Tsentralen Ploshtad), Plovdiv — ~1.5km from Plovdiv Railway Station, served by city bus/trolleybus network

Per 2023 edition: bib pickup and start both at Central Square.

Course loops via Maritsa South Blvd, rowing base, Yasna Polyana St, Koprivshtitsa Blvd, Youth Hill, Karavelov Blvd, Vasil Aprilov Blvd, Ivan Vazov St, Avksentiy Veleshki St and Tsar Simeon's Garden.

No dedicated shuttle; city-center loop course, ordinary Plovdiv bus/trolleybus + walking covers access, subject to road-closure diversions (check marathonplovdiv.com's 'street closures' page).

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

Start is at 9:00 AM from Central Square in Plovdiv, near the Military Club and Tsar Simeon's Garden;

the marathon and half marathon share the course and finish back at the start.

Refreshment stations offer drinks and fresh/dried fruit every 5km plus at the finish.

The marathon time limit is 5 hours 30 minutes.
