It's often described as running through a postcard, in a region known for its warm crowd support.

Marcel finished the Meia Maratona do Sol's 21km in 2 hours and 13 minutes, maintaining a fairly steady pace through hills and headwinds. He appreciated the afternoon start, music along course, and water every 3km, and was happy to finish without pain.

Runners start · local time — Sunday, September 20, 2026 | half marathon 21.097km — 21km elite men and women: single start 4:50–4:54 a.m. / 21km athletes with disabilities (PCD): 4:55–4:59 a.m. / 21km open: Wave 1 5–5:05 a.m., Wave 2 5:10–5:15 a.m., Wave 3 5:20–5:25 a.m.
All three races start and finish on the grass pitch inside Arena das Dunas.
The 21.0975km course leaves the stadium, crosses the BR-101 highway via the Ponta Negra viaduct,
runs along Via Costeira with views of Morro do Careca, and returns to the stadium.
Because of its naming sponsor, the race is officially the Meia Maratona do Sol Sicredi (Sol Sicredi half marathon).
It began in 2014 with the aim of bringing sport, health, culture, and tourism together over one weekend.
More than 16,000 runners entered the 2025 edition,
making it the largest sporting event in Rio Grande do Norte and the biggest running festival in northern and northeastern Brazil.
The race was later designated an intangible cultural heritage of Rio Grande do Norte.

Natal's city buses run on the RN Card system (a local reloadable transit card) or cash paid directly to the conductor. A May 2026 city council bill permits fare payment via Pix (Brazil's QR-code/account-transfer system, not the same as tapping a foreign EMV bank card) but reportedly excluded direct credit/debit card tap payment.
Fare is roughly R$4.50-5.20 depending on payment method. Cash is the most reliable option for a short visit.

Race packs are collected in the Hospitality area of Arena das Dunas in Natal.
Have your entry confirmation, payment receipt and official photo ID ready.
Proxy pickup requires the organizer's authorization form and ID documents that meet the rules.
Some participants on discounted entries must collect in person and prove eligibility, so check your entry type before sending someone in your place.
When you receive bib and timing chip, check your name and registration details on the spot;
no claims about this information are accepted afterward.
Bag storage operates at the start/finish area and requires the storage tag attached to bib.
Bib is used not only for timing but also for access to the start, finish,
finisher medal and runner-service areas, so keep it until you've finished the post-race process.
Toilets at the venue are the stadium's own facilities, and portable toilets are also placed on half marathon.
Distinguishing the stadium area from facilities on course makes it easier to plan your route through bag drop and the toilets to the start corral.
Times are local to Natal. Check the latest official information before the race.
