The Nagasaki Music Fest Marathon 2027 will take place on January 31, 2027, starting and finishing at Transcosmos Stadium Nagasaki in Isahaya.

It is the first full marathon event in Nagasaki Prefecture to receive certification from the Japan Association of Athletics Federations,

and is produced by the Tokyo Marathon Foundation.

The full marathon 42.195km race has a capacity of 10,000 runners, while Fun Run 5.1km is capped at 1,000.

The full marathon general-entry quota filled on August 31, 2026.

Running the course ahead of race day, the runner found it mostly flat overall, though fully exposed to the wind on the embankment road, and felt there might be less crowd support between 13K and 35K. Their practice run took 3:39:45.

The Nagasaki Music Fest Marathon, combining running and music, will take place on January 31, 2027.

It is the first Japan Association of Athletics Federations-certified full marathon event in Nagasaki Prefecture and is produced by the Tokyo Marathon Foundation.

The start and finish are at transcosmos Stadium Nagasaki in Isahaya, and course follows a single, relatively flat course.

The course includes the approximately 7km straight section known as the “Isahaya Bay Reclamation Embankment Road,” built atop a tidal dike created through the Isahaya Bay reclamation project.

Runners pass through the Isahaya Plain, one of Nagasaki Prefecture’s leading grain-producing areas,

and the reclaimed land, taking in scenery unique to the region.

Full marathon starts at 9:00, Fun Run at 9:20, with time limit having a time limit of 6 hours 30 minutes and Fun Run 50 minutes.

The event is jointly organized by Isahaya City, Unzen City and the Nagasaki Athletics Association.

If you book lodging in central Nagasaki based only on the event name, your trip on race morning will be longer.

The roughly 7km straight embankment road is wide open, so you take the wind head-on.

Since the race is held in January, the headwind on this stretch can decide your time on the day.

The Entry fee depends on where you live.

The full marathon costs 15,000 yen for residents of Japan and 28,000 yen for overseas residents,

and the Fun Run costs 5,500 yen for adults and 3,500 yen for high school students.

General entries for the full marathon filled up on August 31, 2026.

The time limit is a generous 6 hours 30 minutes and the course has little elevation change, so it's a low-pressure choice for a first full marathon.
