Getting to the start

No public transit - start is at the Potash Hill campus, Marlboro, VT, a rural Vermont site.

There is NO parking at the start (Potash Hill); runners must take the organizer bus or arrange a drop-off. Point-to-point rural New England course between Vermont and Massachusetts with no public transit; the early-morning organizer shuttle is the only way to reach the start without a personal drop-off.

Getting to the finish

No train/subway - finish is at Greenfield Community College, Greenfield, MA, which has ample on-site parking.

Runners can park at GCC (the finish) and ride the shuttle to the start, returning to their car after the race.

Organizer bus runs from the Greenfield Community College parking lot to the Marlboro, VT start; buses depart starting at 5:00am, with the last bus leaving at 5:30am.

Transit card

No dedicated transit card system; Greenfield in rural western Massachusetts is served by the Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA) on cash fares rather than a smartcard, so car access is the norm for this race.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.

Greenfield in August — with an average of 21°C, the weather is neither too hot nor too cold for running.

The sun gets stronger toward midday, though, so all you need is one light outer layer to take off before the start.

Public transportation does not reach the venue.

Driving your own car or renting a car is the only practical way to get there.

Registration is handled through the Race Roster platform.

Full marathon really begins after 30 km.

Running the first half 5–10 seconds slower than your target pace will help you maintain your pace later, and start taking gels early, before you feel hungry.

The 07:00 start is early.

Counting backward from wake-up, breakfast, and travel, it is more convenient to stay the night before near start line.
