THE DREAM
Held in England on May 2, 2027.
Full marathon, half marathon, the 10K, and children's events are held on the same day.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I finished in 50:17, so didn’t quite hit my B goal.”In the Newcastle Gateshead 10km, the final climb cost the runner the target time. The stadium atmosphere and time spent cheering friends remained enjoyable.
“My muscles were out of glycogen. I had hit the wall.”At the Newcastle Gateshead Marathon, the runner slowed around mile 22 but kept alternating walking and running to finish with a personal best.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
Preview the course and read what runners who went before you wrote.

The Newcastle-Gateshead Marathon follows a course linking the two cities on opposite sides of the River Tyne: Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead.
The entire route is run on fully closed roads, passing landmarks including the Gateshead Millennium Bridge,
The Glasshouse International Centre for Music (formerly Sage Gateshead), BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Tyne Bridge and the historic Swing Bridge.
The race finishes with one lap of the track at Gateshead International Stadium.
It is also known as a fast, performance-oriented course, with reports that world-class times have been recorded on this finish in the past.
With many sections along the River Tyne, the race offers views of Newcastle-Gateshead, a former industrial area transformed into a cultural destination.
BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and The Glasshouse were respectively converted from a former grain warehouse and developed as a modern concert venue,
making them symbolic spaces in the two cities’ conversion of industrial heritage into cultural infrastructure.
A half-marathon, 10K and junior races are held on the same day, making this a major local running event for participants of all ages and abilities.
This may change for the next edition.
