Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“My splits were very consistent in the running and hiking sections.”The runner covered eight laps at the Night Moves Marathon, running to the half marathon mark before brisk walking as preparation for a longer race. A chasing headlamp prompted renewed running on the final lap and 23rd place among 51 finishers.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
Preview the course and read what runners who went before you wrote.

From the 2026 editionWe have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet.
The race venue is Stephen F. Austin State Park beside I-10 west of Houston.
The park has only one entrance, and parking fills from the Group Dining Hall entrance backward along the right side of the park road.
The Group Dining Hall is the center of the event.
BIB pickup, the start/finish, lap counting, the main aid station, timing tent, and medical area are all located there.
The grassy area beyond the stairs is available for runners to place personal supplies and for spectators to cheer.
One lap is just over 5 km and follows the Red Loop and then the Blue Loop.
The marathon completes eight laps, adding the Green Add-On, the Barred Owl Trail, to the first two laps.
The half marathon completes four laps, adding the Green Add-On only to the first lap.
The 10K is two laps, and the 5K is one lap.
The surface is wide and mostly gravel and dirt, with several short climbs and descents.
After completing the Blue Loop, runners pass through an arch in front of the aid station,
where a lap is recorded, then either continue onto the next lap or receive a medal and finish.
There is one unmanned water point at a road crossing in the middle of the course.
Because the crossing is on a blind curve, park police control it.
