Cut-off
A 5K lap starts at the top of every hour, and you must finish it within one hour to run the next lap.
The start goes off on the hour, every hour.
You must complete the 5km loop within one hour to remain in the race;
the earlier you finish, the longer you can rest before the next start.
Missing the one-hour limit on any lap ends your race.
The surface is trail, combining dirt, rocks, tree roots and elevation changes, with paved and gravel sections on some parts.
Conditions vary on every course, so the organizer does not guarantee an exact 5km and says each loop will be made as close to 5km as possible.
Walking is allowed, but the one-hour limit remains.
Finisher recognition is based on laps completed.
Four laps earn a “Grit Earned” patch, five earn a “Survivor” patch and six earn a 6-inch OUTLAST finisher medal.
Participants who complete 12 laps receive a 12-inch OUTLAST ULTRA finisher medal.
Among those who complete six laps, the fastest combined 5km times for the men’s and women’s fields receive first-place prizes,
with their results listed on the national leaderboard.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
