“Shoulder started talking to me several times but both times the pain went away after I slowed down.”

Bill Sommers entered the 2026 Paris Texas Marathon just 2 weeks after injuring their collarbone and, with medical clearance, walked the course with their arm in a sling. They slowed whenever shoulder pain flared and finished in 8 hours, 21 minutes, 57 seconds, describing the weather as warm but manageable.

This is an out-and-back course on the NETT Trail. The first 9 miles are on asphalt, followed by firm gravel.

The events are divided into nine categories, including 100K, 50K, Marathon, and Half Marathon.

Start line is located at 2025 S Collegiate Dr, Paris, TX, with a local start time of 7:00 AM.

Course is an out-and-back course along the same route.

Getting to the start

No fixed-route bus operates on race day (Saturday)

Start/finish: Love Civic Center (near the 'Eiffel Tower' landmark), Paris, TX 75460, on the NETT Trail (rails-to-trails, out-and-back). Paris, TX does have a small fixed-route bus system, the Paris Metro (2 routes, hourly), but it runs Monday–Friday 6:30am–6:30pm only — no weekend service.

No date conflict — Findarace lists Sat Sep 19, 2026, matching source date. Despite Paris, TX having a fixed-route bus system, it does not operate on Saturdays, so effectively car access only on race day.
