THE DREAM
This is a USATF-certified, Boston-qualifying race held in the Quad Cities.
Course stays along the Mississippi River throughout and is generally flat and fast.
It offers some of the finest riverside scenery in the United States.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I picked up my pace as much as I could and finished in 3:39:18.”David ran the 2014 Quad Cities Marathon while feeling heavy from a cold. He started faster than planned, then slowed in the later heat, but kept running to finish in 3 hours 39 minutes 18 seconds, 5th in his age group.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
Preview the course and read what runners who went before you wrote.

No named subway/train station; MetroLINK (Quad Cities regional bus system) is the local transit option, with Central Station in Moline serving as its hub. Buses can drop passengers near the downtown Moline start.
Race-day parking is centered at Vibrant Arena at The Mark, 1201 River Drive, Moline, IL, described as 'ample parking.' The I-74 and Centennial Bridges remain open to vehicle traffic during the race. MetroLINK local bus is the only confirmed public transit near the course; no confirmed current Amtrak service to the Quad Cities was found in official race materials.
Same downtown Moline area near Vibrant Arena at The Mark.
Official partner hotels (Wyndham Moline on John Deere Commons; Stoney Creek Hotel) are within walking distance of the finish area.
Marathon relay participants are shuttled by the organizer to their transition/exchange points and back to the finish after their leg; no shuttle documented for full/half marathon runners.
No major IC transit card; the Quad Cities area (Moline) is served by MetroLINK buses on cash or day-pass fare rather than a citywide smartcard, so car access is the practical option for out-of-town visitors.
