THE DREAM

About Road Races Grand Prix — what makes it special

ABOUT THE RACE

A day you'll remember,
long past the finish line.

Road Races Grand Prix is one round of the Cyprus Road Races Grand Prix series, held in the Amathounta area east of Limassol.

The programme centres on 10km and 5km races, with children’s and family events also included.

It is listed on the World Athletics calendar as Cyprus’s only official road race, so results count towards the world rankings.

The event is jointly organised by the Cyprus Amateur Athletic Association (KOEAS), the Cyprus Police, the National Guard and the Municipality of Amathus.

More details

Getting to the start

None confirmed for 2026; 2025 Limassol leg held along the Limassol seafront/Molos area

Distinct from the larger XM Limassol Marathon (held separately in March). 2025 edition was 28 September 2025

Getting to the finish

No finish-specific detail; presumed same general seafront area as start, based on 2025 pattern.

Start shuttle

Limassol seafront/Molos area generally reachable via local Cyprus urban bus routes along Griva Digeni Avenue and by taxi; Cyprus has no passenger rail network island-wide.

Transit card

Motion Bus Card (used by EMEL, the Limassol operator)

EMEL offices at the main railway/bus station, kiosks, vending machines, and the Pame app Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above

Alternative: All-day ticket €5 — Worth it once you're making 3 or more rides in a day; single fares are €2 (daytime) or €3 (after 21:00), so a day pass pays off quickly if using buses for multiple race-related trips. Day-trip single fare is €2, rising to €3 after 21:00; tickets can be bought from the driver (cash) or at EMEL offices.

Contactless bank-card tap is not standard on Limassol buses.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

Limassol is typically hot in late September, with Mediterranean conditions pushing daytime temperatures to around 30°C.

It is the dry season, so rain is unlikely, but runners should prepare for strong sun and high humidity.

The race starts at 8 a.m., allowing runners to finish before the temperature rises.

Course follows a mostly flat 5km circuit with no sharp climbs, while the 10km event repeats the circuit twice, making pace management crucial.

The start area in Amathus lies east of central Limassol and is easier to reach by car than by public transport.

Times are local to Limassol. Check the latest official information before the race.
