Getting to the start

No passenger rail/intercity bus station in Manistee; nearest Amtrak hub is Grand Rapids (~90+ mi away). Local demand-response service: Manistee County Transportation (weekday, limited Saturday); Indian Trails intercity bus also serves Manistee.

Per prior edition (2026): Half Marathon starts at Duffy Park in downtown Manistee (marathon starts earlier at 7:00 AM); course runs out onto the historic North Pier/lighthouse and along Lakeshore Drive. Duffy Park/First Street Beach is centrally located in walkable downtown Manistee, so runners flying in typically drive or taxi from Manistee's small municipal airport or Cherry Capital Airport (Traverse City, ~55 mi) rather than use transit.

source confirms the 2026 edition ran Saturday July 25, 2026 (annual event, date shifts slightly year to year) — treated as per prior edition, not a date conflict. Manistee is a small lakeshore town with no fixed-route public transit hub; car/rideshare is the practical way to reach the venue.

A signature section of the race circles the Manistee North Pier and lighthouse, followed by a run along Lakeshore Drive with views of Lake Michigan.

Runners can choose from the 5K, 10K, half marathon, and full marathon, with Entry fee reported to start at $40 depending on the distance.

Finishers receive the official race shirt and additional swag, and part of the proceeds is donated to the local nonprofit Stomp Out Cancer of Manistee.
