The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
The start and finish are in the same location inside East Walker Ranch Open Space.
Runners climb 300 feet to the ridge, pass through a tunnel beneath Placerita Canyon Road, and return to the same spot.
The course consists of Orange, Yellow and Blue loops, and the event you enter is determined by the number of laps.
Five distances from 5K to 60K, fixed-time 6-hour and 12-hour events, 2-person and 4-person relays, and a 1-mile hike all take place on the same trails.
Picture the course in advance

Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
The course climbs 300 feet almost immediately to the East Walker Ranch ridge, where the first station is located.
From there, the Orange Loop crosses the paved road and heads straight into a long descent,
reaching the second station just before the first tunnel beneath Placerita Canyon Road.
After exiting the tunnel, runners enter Golden Valley Ranch Open Space,
cross back toward East Walker Ranch through the second tunnel, and follow singletrack back to the finish.
The loop is 3.3 miles (5.3 km) with 636 feet of elevation gain.
The Yellow Loop branches left at the first station, follows paved and dirt roads, and then returns to the trail.
A long, shaded section of singletrack leads to the second station, meeting the lower end of the Orange Loop's long descent.
After passing through both tunnels, turn right at the junction and climb back up, pass the first station, and reach the finish via the final descent.
The loop is 5.02 miles (8.07 km) with 967 feet of elevation gain.
The Blue Loop descends directly from the first station to the final descent and is 1.2 miles (1.93 km) with 310 feet of elevation gain.
Together, the three loops total 9.53 miles (15.31 km) and 1,913 feet of elevation gain.
The highest point is 2,362 feet above sea level, and the lowest is 1,854 feet.
The 30K covers this combination twice, while the 60K covers it four times, for a total elevation gain of 7,652 feet.
The 5K and 10K use only the Orange Loop, and the 1-mile hike uses only the Blue Loop.
Completing all three loops takes runners past the station eight times.
The venue is in Placerita Canyon.
On March 9, 1842, Francisco Lopez discovered the first documented gold in California here,
and the race uses that gold and mining history as themes for its medals and merchandise.
The 2027 edition will be the third running.
