What is the International Children's Marathon?

The International Children's Marathon has been held since 2011, and Entry fee is used entirely to help children in need around the world.

Every step you take can help change children's futures.

The event is held in 11 cities nationwide (Seoul, Daejeon, Busan, Incheon, Changwon, Iksan, Naju, Ansan, Daegu, Pohang, and Asan).

Getting to the start

Yi Sun-sin Sports Complex, 370-24 Nambu-ro, Asan-si, Chungnam - reachable from Onyang Oncheon Station (Metropolitan Subway Line 1/Line 1) via city bus 990 or 991, alighting at 'Asan Police Station' or 'Dong-il Highville' stop

Onyangoncheon Station is on the southern end of Seoul Subway Line 1. From Seoul Station, the journey takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes to 2 hours, with either no transfer or one transfer. T-money and Cashbee cards can be topped up at convenience stores or station machines.

It is also accessible from Cheonan-Asan Station (KTX) via buses 990 or 991. Contactless bank-card entry for foreign visitors is being piloted at some metropolitan subway stations but is not yet widely available, so buying a T-money card at a convenience store is the safer option.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

Mornings in October get quite cool.

Bring an extra layer for the wait at the start, and if you're running in short sleeves, use arm sleeves to stay warm early on.

The distance is short, so it isn't demanding;

as long as you don't push pace too hard early, you'll finish comfortably.

Asan is famous for Onyang Hot Springs, a good place to soak away fatigue after the race.

Oeam Folk Village and Hyeonchungsa Shrine are also worth a visit.
