This race starts in Bédoin, Vaucluse, and follows the road uphill to the summit of Mont Ventoux,
known as the 'Giant of Provence': a serious 21.097km uphill half marathon with around 1,610m of elevation gain.
Entry fee varies by edition, but is generally around €30–40, plus a separate €2 registration administration fee;
early registration may also qualify for a 20% discount.
Entry requires a current-season FFA (French Athletics Federation) licence or a PPS (sports participation certificate) issued within three months of the race.
As the entire course is uphill, pacing pace is crucial.
Temperatures can drop sharply and winds can strengthen at higher elevations, so carrying warm layers such as a windproof jacket and gloves is recommended.
The exact Entry fee and registration deadline are updated each year on the official website, semi-montventoux.com.
Times are local to Bédoin. Check the latest official information before the race.
