More details

Getting to the start

Seoraksan Hangyeryeong Rest Area

Located in Gangwon. Assembly at 03:00 on 2026-09-13 (Sun) (pre-dawn mountain race; based on secondary sources — the official site, koreatrail.net, could not be accessed due to a self-signed certificate error).

Course distance is about 27km. Intercity/express buses between Seoul and Sokcho stop at Hangyeryeong Rest Area, but it is unconfirmed whether any buses run in time for the 03:00 assembly, so you will most likely need your own vehicle.

The date (September 13) has been confirmed.

Getting to the finish

Not confirmed

The exact finish point is not confirmed as it is a point-to-point mountain course that crosses the dinosaur ridge of Mt. Seorak.

Transit card

This trail race runs the Gongnyong Ridge in Seoraksan National Park near Sokcho/Inje, Gangwon-do — a rural mountain venue reached mainly by car or intercity bus to Sokcho. For any regional bus/subway use elsewhere in Korea, get a T-money card (rechargeable IC transit card) at any CU/GS25/7-Eleven convenience store or subway vending machine; foreign contactless bank cards are not broadly accepted on Korean transit.

No dedicated transit card is needed at the trailhead itself.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.

This race starts at 3:00 am from Hangyeryeong Service Area and is organised by the Korea Mountain Marathon Federation.

Because the course includes sections in darkness, a headlamp and spare batteries are essential.

The main challenge is the difficulty of the Dinosaur Ridge itself.

As the Korea National Park Service warns, this is a rugged rocky ridge with almost no escape routes once you are on it.

Access to the ridge is restricted in severe weather, including strong winds, rain or fog.

The route includes sections with a fall risk, so gloves and other safety equipment are recommended.

If you are not comfortable on rocky ridges, train beforehand on similar course terrain.

Check the official regulations before entering for the divisions, section-by-section time limit and mandatory equipment.

High-elevation trails may also be closed in autumn for wildfire prevention or other reasons, so confirm that the route is open at the time of the race.

Times are local to Inje. Check the latest official information before the race.
