From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Mount Fuji was beautiful, but the strong wind made the perceived temperature low.”
Joni finished with a net time of 1 hour 46 minutes and 37 seconds. The report covers strong winds, a low perceived temperature, the flat course, a start in Group B, the latter part of the pace, and meeting Eric Wainaina.

The race starts in Enoshima, follows the Shonan coastal road and returns to Enoshima.
The half marathon is a 21.0975 km Japan Association of Athletics Federations-certified course, and the quarter distance is approximately 11.2 km.
The parent-child run and challenge run for families are each approximately 1.9 km.
The course has no major climbs or descents, making it easy to maintain a steady pace, and the course offers views of Enoshima and Mount Fuji.
The event began when local residents came together to express their wish to run along the Shonan coast, using Enoshima as the start and finish point.
It is a community-participation event developed through cooperation between residents,
companies and organisations, with volunteers as well as runners playing an important role.
With distances ranging from the half marathon to approximately 1.9 km, beginners, experienced runners and families can choose a suitable event.
The race has also been selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Citizen Running Events.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Registration and bib details couldn't be confirmed from public sources.
Japanese races usually mail race materials in advance or hold race-day check-in, so check the race guide (participant notice).
Enoshima is served by three stations: Odakyu Enoshima Line 片瀬江ノ島駅 (Katase-Enoshima), Enoden 江ノ島駅 (Enoshima), and Shonan Monorail 湘南江の島駅 (Shonan-Enoshima) — all roughly 10-15 min walk to the Enoshima start/finish area
The official race site names Enoden as an event sponsor, consistent with Enoshima's rail access, but does not itself publish a dedicated access section.
Same as start — course starts and finishes at Enoshima
Same three-station access as start.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The race starts at 8:30 am on 24 January.
As the race starts in Enoshima on a January morning,
it is better to prepare a warm outer layer to wear until just before the start and separate clothing for running.
As this is a course along the coast,
half marathon participants should decide in advance whether to maintain their usual target pace or run at a more relaxed pace while taking in the scenery.
As both the start and finish are in Enoshima, it is convenient to choose accommodation that keeps your travel route short.
Choose between the 21.0975 km half marathon, the approximately 11.2 km quarter, and the approximately 1.9 km parent-child or challenge run.
For items sent in advance, you can choose the free store collection service.
The finisher medal and original bib folder are subject to a fee.
Check the available sizes before applying for a commemorative T-shirt.
Entries for all events in the 2027 race are closed because the entry limits have been reached.
Times are local to Enoshima. Check the latest official information before the race.
